As promised, YouTube has started its Easter egg hunt in preparation for the upcoming Geek Week.
The first clue has been dropped via YouTube's Twitter account -- it's a code one needs to crack to "go retro".
Crack the code to go retro: 53 65 61 72 63 68 20 59 6f 75 54 75 62 65 20 66 6f 72 20 2f 20 67 65 65 6b 77 65 65 6b #GeekWeek— YouTube (@YouTube) July 24, 2013
If you think you're geeky enough and want to crack the code yourself, stop reading now, as there are spoilers below.
For those who are less cryptography-savvy, the code translates to "/ geekweek". Type that into YouTube search and the site will turn into a retro, ASCII version, bringing those of a certain age among us back into the time of Bulletin Board Systems.
