'Unnecessary Quotes' Mocks the Best Punctuation Fails

Punctuation is hard, we get it. There are commas, and semi-colons and colons -- sometimes there are even brackets, slashes and parentheses. It's a lot to wrap your head around, but sadly, punctuation is here to stay.

There seems to be one particular form of punctuation that is plaguing sign-makers worldwide: the elusive quotation marks. Two simple lines floating in mid-air have "brought thousands to their knees." Apparently, it is just "too hard" to figure out when it is appropriate to use a pair.

The site's creator Bethany Keeley-Jonker has been updating her blog for eight years now with terrible punctuation mistakes, she tells Mashable. She says she was inspired on a trip to Wildwood, NJ, years ago, and decided it would be fun to point out just how "awkward" those randomly placed quote marks could be.
