Astronaut Sends Earthlings Valentines From Space

Just because astronaut Chris Hadfield currently lives in space doesn't mean he can't get in on the Earthly love.

Hadfield, who serves as commander for Expedition 35 on the International Space Station, is sending us earthlings heartfelt Valentines via Twitter today.

You're the island on the horizon when my heart is out to sea. #ValentineFromSpace twitter.com/Cmdr_Hadfield/…— Chris Hadfield (@Cmdr_Hadfield) February 14, 2013

Without you my heart is a lonely iceberg. #ValentineFromSpace twitter.com/Cmdr_Hadfield/…— Chris Hadfield (@Cmdr_Hadfield) February 14, 2013

The Canadian astronaut, who regularly tweets, video chats (and has even called William Shatner) from orbit, invited his 365,000-plus followers to submit the best #ValentineFromSpace. So, dearest space nerd, dream up your most romantic, out-of-this world message and send it 240 miles above Earth using the Twitter hashtag.

Over the course of the day, I will be popping in to retweet the best #ValentineFromSpace I can find. Bring on your cheesiest!— Chris Hadfield (@Cmdr_Hadfield) February 14, 2013
