Earlier this week, a group of young skiiers were dropped off at an airport of the settlement of Longyearbyen, Norway, and began their trek to the North Pole.
The youth and accompanying adults are participating in the eighth youth ski expedition to the North Pole. Carrying their equipment in sleds across drifting ice blocks in the Arctic Ocean, while enduring below-freezing temperatures, the group is exploring a place few other people have been before.
