Japan Is Getting Madder At YouTube

Japan's major media groups have formed a vocal campaign against YouTube, claiming the online video site isn't being responsible in regards to ensuring copyrighted content does not continually appear on the site.

To fuel the fire, these members of Japan's music, film and television companies don't even think YouTube's recognition technology is up to par for automatically detecting (and ridding) of copyrighted content. Not to mention, it's taking way too long to come to fruition. This isn't the first time Japan (or anyone for that matter) has gotten mad at YouTube when it comes to its dealing with copyrighted content. Either way, this probably isn't the best way to start things off in Japan--Youtube only launched its site in Japan earlier this summer, along with 8 other countries.

Google has maintained for some time now that it's working on its digital fingerprinting technology, and it will be available soon.
