Lots of people do not like alt-right leader Richard Spencer. One of them just took that dislike to a violent extreme, by punching Spencer in the face, on camera.

Spencer is a white nationalist who rose to fame via a viral video of a speech he ended with a Nazi salute, calling for his audience to "hail Trump." He's also called for a "peaceful ethnic cleansing" of the United States—which he wants to turn into an "ethno-state" for people of European descent—and has since become something of a celebrity among the alt-right.

The aforementioned blow came Friday from a black-clad protester just as Spencer was explaining his Pepe the Frog lapel pin.

Later, Spencer—who once called Martin Luther King Jr. "a fraud and degenerate"—claimed on Twitter that he was punched again and spat on after the initial incident, and proceeded to Tweet out video of the incident himself.

Spencer was in Washington, D.C., to attend the inauguration of President Donald Trump.
