American Apparel announced a partnership with Postmates on Monday, which promises on-demand delivery service to U.S. customers within one hour.

American Apparel will deliver a lineup of over 50 items from its Basics line, from thongs to bodysuits to glitter leotards. The service costs $1.99 for a limited time, plus clothing price.

"American Apparel is improving its omni-channel consumer experience via Postmates by becoming their first major fashion retailer to offer 'on-demand basics,'” said Thoryn Stephens, American Apparel chief digital officer. “You’ll be able to receive hoodies, t-shirts, socks and more within a 60-minute delivery window — it’s great for traveling or last-minute needs."

American Apparel has seen many changes in the past months, including filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in October amid dismal sales and controversy with founder Dov Charney, who faces sexual harassment accusations from former employees. The former CEO has since collaborated on a new clothing brand

American Apparel 60-minute delivery service is another rebound attempt by the company. Using a real-time inventory service called RFID, the two-way service alerts Postmates drivers to pick up the merchandise while simultaneously giving a head's up to American Apparel to package the order.

The service will only be available in 79 stores within 31 markets.

American Apparel is not the only company offering same-day delivery. Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter have delivered for years.
