CBS' anticipated Carpool Karaoke spinoff is headed to Apple Music.

The streaming platform, which costs $10 per month, will be the global home for the series, based on the popular segment on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Corden is the series creator and will serve as an executive producer, however a new host will be selected to helm the digital series.

It will consist of 16 episodes -- with a similar riding-in-car-with-celebrity format -- and be available exclusively to Apple Music subscribers in more than 100 countries.

The news comes as the Cupertino, California-based company continues to bolster its original content efforts.

Already, Apple has been behind releases such as Taylor Swift’s 1989 World Tour, a docu-series with Vice and exclusive video interviews with superstars such as Adele. In March, the company announced it is teaming up with executive producer Ben Silverman (known for The Office), musician Will.i.am and Howard Owens’ Propagate for a show about the Apple app economy and culture.

The company is also reportedly producing a new scripted television series with Dr. Dre.

Apple, for the most part, has been quiet about original content efforts. But it has been promoting its new "living room"-focused Apple TV set-top box.

The Corden spin-off show underscores Apple's efforts to position itself against rival streaming services.

In the last year, Corden's segment has given him an upper hand in the digital space, with each video racking up millions of views. Recent guests have included First Lady Michelle Obama, One Direction, Sia, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez and a handful of other stars.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with Apple Music on this exciting new series of CARPOOL KARAOKE,” said Ben Winston, executive producer of The Late Late Show with James Corden as well as the new Carpool Karaoke series. “The joy of Carpool is both the intimacy it creates, while seeing the love our passengers have for music. Where better to showcase that than with Apple Music.”

Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, called the show a "perfect fit for Apple Music."

“We love music, and Carpool Karaoke celebrates it in a fun and unique way that is a hit with audiences of all ages,” Cue said in a statement. “It’s a perfect fit for Apple Music — bringing subscribers exclusive access to their favorite artists and celebrities who come along for the ride.”
