This is a picture of a luxury car. Seriously.
You are looking at a picture of a car, a Bentley Mulsanne to be specific.
The gold and black sedan was photographed cruising along the iconic Golden Gate Bridge in California.
It's there, honestly. As you can see in the video below, this incredible photograph is almost infinitely zoomable.

In fact, you can zoom in all the way to the embroidered, winged logo on the car's all-leather seats.
To make this rather remarkable marketing image, Bentley turned to, literally, space-age photographic wizardry from NASA.
NASA developed this gigapixel image technology to compile and present images of the Mars landscape captured by the Mars Curiosity Rovers.
Like those images, Bentley's Mulsanne 53 billion pixel photograph is not one image, but hundreds of them -- 700, to be exact -- stitched together into one image. If you were to layout all 700 pieces in the real world, they would, according to Bentley, cover a football field.
Bentley created the image to highlight the new Mulsanne's wider wheelbase (it's now 3,516 mm), which the company claims provides a smoother ride.
If you have a few hundred thousand dollars to spare, you can experience that ride. For the rest of us, this eye-popping photo feat will have to suffice.
BONUS: Can a $400K Bentley actually be a good deal?
