Amazon's Prime Day TV deals are predictably good
UPDATE: Jul. 16, 2024, 9:45 a.m. EDT This list has been updated with new Prime Day TV deals.
Amazon Prime Day can surely be counted as one of the best times of year to buy a TV, depending on the type of TV you're in the market for. If that's a budget-friendly QLED model or Fire TV, the retail giant's big summer sale is a can't-miss affair.
On the first day of Prime Day (live now through Wednesday, July 17), Amazon has dropped some steals. Several TV markdowns are matching the models' lowest prices on record, or are close. Amazon's own Fire TVs also currently have a 90-day free trial of Amazon Music Unlimited attached to them — a nice $11ish per month break from Spotify or Apple Music if you're currently paying for that.
We'll be updating our list of TVs on sale at Amazon as Prime Day continues and will keep you posted if Best Buy's concurrent Black Friday in July sale gives it any serious competition.
Note: All newly-added deals are marked with a ✨, while anything marked with a 🔥 has dropped to an all-time low price. Deals with a strikeout were either sold out or expired at the time of writing.
Best Prime Day TV deal
Why we like it
TCL's Q6 TV is one of the most impressive cheap QLED TVs out there right now, so the opportunity to score the big 65-inch version for under $400 is seriously sweet for anyone looking to ditch their old, muted LED TV. (And this is an even better deal than Amazon is advertising: This exact model retails for $699.99 on the TCL website; you're actually saving 43%.) For this all-time low price, the Q6 gets bright enough to make HDR worthwhile, complemented by the noticeable boosted color accuracy from the layer of quantum dots.

Frequently Asked Questions
Amazon Prime Day is a sitewide sale event open (mostly) exclusively to paid Amazon Prime members, plus people currently using their free trial. Prime Day 2024 is the 10th anniversary of the event and will take place from Tuesday, July 16 through Wednesday, July 17, lining up with a majority of the mid-July time slots we've seen in Prime Days past.
The "mostly" caveat sometimes applies to categories like TVs, in which Amazon seems to match TV prices from Prime Day competition sales from rivals like Best Buy and Samsung. These are more likely to be open to the general public and may be coincidentally happening during Prime Day, but not officially marked as a Prime Day deal.
Prime Day also isn't the only big sale of the year that Amazon gatekeeps just for Prime members, though it is the only event formally called Prime Day. The other big one, most recently dubbed "Prime Big Deal Days" in 2023, hits in the fall right before the big switchover to Black Friday fun.
