'Lemonade' downloads coming to iTunes, will stream exclusively on Tidal

While Beyoncé's Lemonade will stream exclusively on Tidal -- which she and husband Jay Z are partial owners of -- the album will soon be available to download elsewhere.

The album that made its grand debut with an hourlong visual masterpiece on HBO will be available for purchase for $17.99 on Tidal as well as on iTunes at midnight on Sunday, a source close to the situation tells Mashable. With the purchase, fans will also get the visual components of the album.

In a statement on Sunday, a representative for Tidal said that the streaming service was also making the album available globally, "including those in countries where Tidal streaming isn’t yet supported."

Representatives for other streaming services including Spotify, Google Play and Soundcloud Go were not immediately available for comment. 

After the release of Kanye West's The Life of Pablo in February, the rapper said that the album would "never never" be available on Apple, but just a month and a half later, it was. A source tells Mashable that so far, Lemonade will only be available to stream on Tidal in perpetuity.
