BTS fans are bringing the memes after RM remixed 'Old Town Road' with Lil Nas X

'Seoul Town Road' ain't big enough for the two of us.

BTS is on a much-needed break for the summer, but that doesn't mean its members can't goof around on the side -- especially when that means doing a remix with some big yeehaw energy.

On Thursday, Lil Nas X released his newest remix of "Old Town Road" featuring RM (aka Kim Namjoon) of BTS. It's appropriately titled "Seoul Town Road." Who knows how many NDAs everyone had to sign to get this to the public without BTS fans ARMYs sniffing it out, but it worked.

It came completely out of left field for both K-Pop fans and fans of Lil Nas X, and both sides reacted accordingly. There are a lot of layers to take in here — RM's pun-filled wordplay in the verse, the mashup of aesthetics.

And, naturally -- like tumbleweeds in the desert -- the memes have begun to roll in.

Others were clowning the fact that while singing about riding to the farm, RM doesn't even have his driver's license.

A big focus was on RM's use of the word "homis" instead of "homies," as a "homi" is a Korean farming tool similar to a hoe. Others couldn't help but make puns based on the purple horse on the cover of the remix. (BTS often tell their fans "Borahae" meaning "I Purple You," but it does sound an awful lot like "neigh.")

ARMYs were probably excited to get a bit of unexpected content before the two month drought. (Although there's so much backlogged content, it's almost impossible to run out.) But Lil Nas X fans were left wondering if we really needed another remix? At least he was incredibly self-aware about it, and claimed this is the last one guys, seriously.

Whether or not this is really the last one, we'll just have to wait and see. After all, he still has to get Guy Fieri to feature on the track.
