A superheroes' number one job is to protect the planet.

And while there are probably plenty of threats to a country like America's national security, climate change has been identified numerous times as one of the biggest.

Not if you ask the president, though. Judging by his tweets, Trump is still treating global warming as something to joke about.

Enter Captain America.

The man behind the mask, Chris Evans, took to Twitter to challenge the president over his tweet on Monday.

It wasn't the only time that day that Evans challenged Trump, either.

Evans' second tweet followed Trump's remarks about Elizabeth Warren, which many interpreted as a reference to the Trail of Tears.

Evans weighed in after Fox News analyst Brit Hume implied Trump might not have known about the Trail of Tears.

Don't mess with Captain America.
