Cricketer imitating his opponent's face is definitely a novel strategy

"Plenty of banter today."

Cricket is a relatively difficult sport to explain. But it's easy to understand the players penchant for insulting each other on the field.

Sometimes it comes in the form of trash talk, where verbal insults are traded in a bid to intimidate the opposition. Historically, the sledging in cricket has been pretty nasty.

Take Indian bowler, Ishant Sharma. He tried to unnerve Australian batter Steve Smith by hilariously imitating his batting face, during a tense match on Sunday in Bangalore.

His facial expressions really speak for themselves.

Yep. This is professional sports, folks.

Naturally, people on Twitter had their own take on Sharma's bizarre tactic to put off the opposition.

Don't you just love grown men insulting each other sports?
