He terrified viewers dancing the samba while wearing The Mask's green makeup, made them cringe with a rendition of 'Gangnam Style' and had them laughing with his clumsy attempt at an Argentine tango. Now viewers of the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing have said bye bye Balls.

Ed Balls from the UK's Labour Party was voted out of the show after a cha-cha challenge. However, he's earned the praise of politicians and civilians alike on social media.

Over the past 10 weeks, Mr Balls, made the somewhat miraculous transformation from bland politician to the dancing hero of post-Brexit Britain. The BBC described him as "an underdog who is aware of his own absurdity but tries his darnedest and desperately wants to shine."

His "dad dancing" even won him the sought after label of "national treasure" from former Labour party leader Ed Miliband.

This is how politicians from across the political spectrum reacted after Balls' exit:

So long Mr Balls. Yoou will be missed.
