Ed Sheeran doesn't get why we're so hyped about his 'Game of Thrones' cameo because he apparently hasn't met the internet

Ed Sheeran thinks we all need to calm down about his Game of Thrones cameo, to which I say, YOU CALM DOWN, SIR.

The humble Brit hit the red carpet at the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction this week and apparently spent most of it fielding Thrones questions, telling Access Hollywood, "I’m literally a cameo, it’s the least interest[ing]… everyone’s gonna watch it and be like 'oh, was that it?' I’m just popping up in it. I know the next season’s crazy, but I’m not involved in the craziness."

That may be true, but being adjacent to Game of Thrones craziness is still pretty exciting -- unlike Sheeran's scene, apparently.

"The scene I did, I did with Maisie [Williams], and it’s decent, I like it," Sheeran told Entertainment Tonight. "Nothing exciting happens in the scene, we just have a conversation, that’s kind of it."

Not only do they have a conversation, but according to what the singer has previously revealed about the scene, he also performs a song during the guest spot -- and Arya Stark is seemingly just as much of a Sheeran fan as the actress who portrays her.

Still, Sheeran doesn't think we should get too worked up about his appearance. "I feel like my cameo’s been built up too much though, people will just be like 'Oh. Oh, alright,'" he told ET. "It’s not an integral part of it at all, I’m just, like… in it."

But what about bloopers? Did anything crazy happen while he was filming, one intrepid reporter asked? "I didn’t put on my thermal socks and I was outside in the winter in England for about 10 hours, so it was cold," Sheeran revealed.

Good to know that if this whole music thing doesn't work out, he could have a lucrative career as a hype man...
