Google's pizza-themed Doodle is actually a fiendish mini-game

Well that wasn't easy 🍕

Who would've thought slicing pizza could be this much of a head-scratcher?

Google unveiled its latest Doodle on Monday, a fiendish mini-game which tasks you with cutting up a pizza into a certain number of slices using only so many strokes.

It sounds simple enough, and the first pizza — a margarita that requires six slices from three cuts — pretty much is. But it quickly gets more and more confusing as the levels advance, going from awkward numbers of slices to asking for slices that only contain certain toppings from certain parts of the pizza, and so on.

There are 11 levels/pizzas in total for you to try your hand at, and you get marked out of three stars for your effort on each (you can only progress onto the next level if you get at least one star and don't completely botch the whole thing).

Why pizza? "Today’s interactive Doodle celebrates one of the world’s most popular dishes—pizza!" reads the Doodle's description. "On this day in 2007, the culinary art of Neapolitan 'Pizzaiuolo' was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity."

Give the game a go, but be warned — you're probably going to end up confused, hungry, or both.
