The trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is full of furry faces, from Cosmo the Spacedog to Rocket Raccoon. But there's one little fuzzball I can't get out of my head. It's this little critter right here:

Look at it! The four ears, the blissed-out expression, the precious little teeth... I know almost nothing about this creature, but I do know that I want to give it a big hug. I also know its name. According to a tweet from director James Gunn, my new favorite Marvel creature is named "Blurp." Nothing else, just Blurp.

Not only is the name very fun to say over and over again, it also reminds me of the "Glup Shitto" meme, which is a catch-all name for obscure Star Wars characters diehard fans are excited to see onscreen. Blurp doesn't appear to be an existing Marvel character, so this is likely less of a Glup Shitto situation and more of a "we need a cute creature to make toys out of" situation.

Still, I find Blurp adorable and can not wait to watch him in action. Here he is one more time:

All hail Blurp.
