This bug-filled Halloween burger is the stuff of nightmares

Would you like flies with that?

If you think there's a bug in your food, that's nothing compared to this monstrosity.

Halloween's almost here, so Melbourne burger group Huxtaburger has cooked up a limited-edition burger that's worthy of a "Treehouse of Horror" episode of The Simpsons.

The Bugstaburger is full of exactly that: bugs.

This ungodly masterpiece is stacked full of edible mealworms and a lashing of ant mayo, atop a regular beef patty, cheese, etc., all sitting in a bright blue bun.

Look, if you can stomach eating a mealworm, they're actually a solid source of protein, and they're sustainable. But still, it's a hard pass for me.

Keen to sink your fangs into one? If you're near Australia, head to their Melbourne CBD store on Halloween and hand over A$10.50 ($8.10).

Don't get a mealworm stuck in your teeth.
