Harry Styles shaves his head (gasp). The internet is aghast over the cut.

So long, long locks.

Harry Styles shaved his head. If you are not a Directioner that might mean nothing to you. A grown man cut his hair. OK.

But, of course, the internet is obsessed with Harry Styles (and his hair). That means when the famously handsome man cuts his famously long locks, people are going to freak out. But yes, ICYMI, Styles was spotted at U2's Las Vegas concert at the Sphere with a completely shaved head. Like entirely down to the scalp.

The internet was quick to react. Fans were aghast, agog, apoplectic. There was a strong mix of jokes, disbelief, frankly rude comments, and tons and tons of memes. Also, roughly nine million people made the wordplay joke, "Harry Styles but no hair to style."

Mashable's Elena Cavender foresaw Styles' shorn new following the release of his famous ex Taylor Swift's 1989 (Taylor's Version), which revisits the time of their tumultuous romance.

But in general, folks seemed to not be a fan of his shaved head.

For those of us who watched the recent Beckham documentary on Netflix, this feels like a more muted version of the world's reaction to David Beckham shaving his head years ago. Alas, time is a flat circle and, don't worry folks, hair does grow back.
