Kate Bishop is all you need to know about the Disney+ 'Hawkeye' series
The Marvel Cinematic Universe take on Hawkeye isn't everyone's favorite, but Marvel looks to be tapping into a killer source for his next act.
A Hawkeye series reveal at San Diego Comic-Con for Disney+ release in fall 2021 was accompanied by a logo, and a small-but-vital piece of information. The logo has the same art style as writer Matt Fraction's fantastic Marvel Comics series and the Disney+ take will feature his young protégé, Kate Bishop.

Jeremy Renner will reprise his role as the Avengers' very own archer, and he'll be teaching Kate -- who eventually becomes Hawkeye in the comics -- how the superheroing trade works. That role hasn't been cast yet, but there's plenty of time to get that done.
Kate Bishop is a great character who was introduced in Marvel's Young Avengers series, but she really found her footing in Fraction's take on Hawkeye. In that series, Clint Barton is portrayed as an everyday schmuck who falls ass-backwards into both trouble and victory. He's got a pizza-loving dog and a pal in Kate, and their shared adventures together -- consisting of more everyday, non-apocalyptic threats -- are what the series is all about.
The short-lived Fraction series nonetheless cemented Kate as a key up-and-comer in the Marvel Comics universe, and led to subsequent appearances in Young Avengers, another Hawkeye series, and eventually her own (sadly cancelled) Marvel NOW! run.
Ultimately, the Comic-Con reveal is just a logo. And while a tie to or inspiration from Fraction's story seems almost assured based on that one image, it's all just speculation until Marvel shares more, presumably closer to the 2021 launch.
