For his new music video, J Views is letting you control the tempo.

The first video of its kind, "#Almostforgot" is completely controlled by the viewer's own heart; the song's tempo as well as the visuals fluctuate in sync with its beats. Chilling in bed? You'll get a mellow beat, perfect for relaxing. Going on a run? You'll get something that keeps pace.

Developed by Hello Monday, the video uses technology that analyzes subtle changes in your skin complexion with each heartbeat. If you take your finger off the lens of your phone, the video stops.

"#Almostforgot" is available on a free iPhone App or on Android v 5.0 + on Chrome here.

J Views is a Grammy-nominated songwriter, producer and visual artist who blends both raw and electronic sounds with analog tapes, recordings of nature, and sometimes, sounds sent to him by his fans.

"#Almostforgot," which features Kelli Scarr on vocals, is just one of the unique songs off J Views' 401 Days, which will be released on May 20. The album is the end result of the DNA project, which invited fans to experience the process of making the album.

Much as the video for "#Almostforgot" finds the listener playing a role in the song, J Views says the entire album blurs the line between artist and consumer.

“I walked into this project with not a single written song. Everything happened in real time, every line of lyrics, every fragment of thought that was posted on the site, every sound or a melodic idea," he said in a statement to Mashable.

"This ‘live’ process created a sense of healthy urgency; I was on the tip of my toes, sharing whatever was inspiring and real for me. This opened my heart, helped me simply communicate with people who care about my music, and helped me refine what really moves me.”

He added that "#AlmostForgot" was written during a "minor breakdown" in the 401 Days recording process.

"I was low on inspiration. I felt like I was living on crumbs... not reading anymore, only reading back-of-books, hardly listening to music, only listening to songs ‘brought to you by a certain brand.' I almost forgot my heart, and once I realized it this song just become the richest thing I could imagine creating."
