If you just bought an iPhone X, you've probably noticed you need to rewire your brain to navigate the phone. Instead of using the trusty old Home button, you need to learn a bunch of new gestures.

The most difficult one to master appears to be opening the app switcher. It's really slow. But there's actually a faster and simpler way to launch it than we've been told. Here's how to do it:

The official way to open the app switcher is to swipe up on the gesture bar toward the middle of the screen. Once you feel the Taptic Engine's vibration, you're supposed to pause, and wait for the other app cards to appear from the left side. This is both slow and unintuitive.

Here's how you should be doing it: Swipe up from the gesture bar and move your thumb towards the right at an angle. In a single motion, you can open the app switcher.

You can also try swiping up from the gesture bar, moving your thumb towards the left at an angle, but it's a little trickier. Either direction will bring up the app switcher screen.

So, if you're still struggling master the app switcher, there you go. This should save you precious seconds navigating between apps on your phone. Have a great day!
