Katie Ledecky was destined to be a gold medal-winning Olympian. Just look at her family's photo album.
As a child, Ledecky met two very famous athletes widely considered the best their sports have ever seen: Michael Phelps and Michael Jordan.
Here is Ledecky as just a toddler, being held up by Jordan, who won two gold medals as part of the U.S. Olympic Basketball team.

And at age nine, Ledecky met swimmer Michael Phelps at an autograph signing. Phelps currently holds 21 gold medals.

So far in her career: Ledecky has won three gold medals: a surprise 800-meter freestyle win in 2012 and victories this year in the 200-meter and 400-meter freestyle.
Not only is Ledecky clearly a hard worker, she seems to have had destiny -- and enviable ties to greatness -- on her side.
