One of the first people to come forward to accuse Kevin Spacey of sexual harassment was Mexican actor Roberto Cavazos, who alleged the Hollywood star preyed on many young actors while he was artistic director of the London's Old Vic theatre (2004 - 2015)

Now, the theatre has released results of its own investigation and they're damning.

In a statement, the Old Vic said 20 people made personal allegations of inappropriate behaviour carried out by Kevin Spacey from 1995 to 2013.

The investigation also found that Spacey's status as a Hollywood star and the "cult of personality" around him may have prevented young actors and staff from speaking out.

"Despite having the appropriate escalation processes in place, it was claimed that those affected felt unable to raise concerns and that Kevin Spacey operated without sufficient accountability," the theatre said.

"This is clearly unacceptable and The Old Vic truly apologises for not creating an environment or culture where people felt able to speak freely."

The theatre added that none of the reported cases, with the exception of one, resulted into an official complaint with management.

"No legal claims, formal grievances, formal disputes, settlement agreements or payments made or authorised were made at all in relation to Kevin Spacey during his tenure," it said.

Nick Clarry, chairman of The Old Vic, said:

‘On behalf of The Old Vic Board of Trustees, to all those people who felt unable to speak up at the time, The Old Vic truly apologises. Inappropriate behaviour by anyone working at The Old Vic is completely unacceptable. We will foster a safe and supportive environment without prejudice, harassment or bullying of any sort, at any level. We want anyone who works here to feel confident, valued and proud to be part of The Old Vic family.’
