Kim Kardashian doesn't shy away from sharing everything with her millions of followers, and on Monday, the mogul used her influence to draw international attention to a touching story of a man named Adam who was recently diagnosed with cancer and struggling to find a bone marrow match.

Kardashian heard the story through a friend who's child goes to school with Adam's son. She shared his diagnosis and account on Facebook, and encouraged fans to join in the bone marrow registry.

"He is 31 and a father of three who was recently diagnosed with an aggressive blood cancer called primary myelofibrosis," she wrote on Facebook. "He is desperately searching for a bone marrow match to survive, and you could be that match!"

Adam, 31, was unable to find a match amidst the 25 million in the bone marrow registry. With the help of his social media campaign Hope 4 Adam and Kardashian's boost, Adam and his family hope to encourage those between the ages of 18-44 to get into the bone registry and potentially save his life.

"For the person that's getting the transplant, it's a big process, but for the person giving it's a specialized blood donation," Adam said in a video explaining his diagnosis and current campaign.

They hope to get 50,000 people signed up for free swab kits. These are used to enter the registry and ultimately determine whether or not one is a match, just by swabbing the inside of a cheek. While kits are processed for free in the U.S., Adam and his family have also launched crowdfunding campaign to raise $2 million in order to fund the processing the kits from around the world.
