An enthusiastic monitor lizard was the star of Saturday's practice session for the Singapore Grand Prix.

Dutch driver Max Verstappen was forced to drive carefully around the creature when it scuttled onto the track in the middle of his drive.

"There's a giant lizard on the track," he told his teammates. This was extremely accurate.

But while Verstappen may have been put off by his new reptilian friend, Twitter instantly declared it its new favorite lizard. This was also a great opportunity to use the lizard emoji, which is often tragically overlooked.

We're not sure why the lizard made its way onto the track, but we assume it was looking for the concession stand.
