LONDON -- Since Muhammad Ali passed away on Saturday, a huge number of tributes have been pouring in for the iconic boxer.

London has been no exception. Over the weekend a memorial in Brixton and two street art paintings in Harringay and Camberwell were among the tributes paid to Ali.

London-based street artist Pegasus painted a mural of Ali in Turnpike Lane, London on Sunday morning.

"He is painted in Turnpike Lane next to my Prince piece," Pegasus told Mashable. "I thought it was fitting as they were fans of each other."

Pegasus said he started work on the tribute as soon as he heard of Ali's passing.

"I worked all of Saturday drawing and cuttings stencils and on 2 hours of sleep completed the painting Sunday morning in an hour and half.

"He was the best the world has ever seen, a true inspiration to many and a strong influential voice. His portrait was already a planned feature at my upcoming show, it is unfortunate that it had to be seen first under these circumstances."

Pegasus wasn't the only street artist paying tribute to Ali in London. Another in Camberwell was spotted working on the piece below, while flowers and messages were also laid at a tree in Brixton's Windrush Square.
