Australia and Asgard are not that different. They're both home to Thor, and if you ask some politicians, Australia's even a place "where science and magic are the same thing."

The state of Queensland isn't just the birth place of Thor: Ragnarok, thanks to director Taika Waititi building a set (including a makeshift New York) there. It's also going to be home to a "world first" Marvel exhibition housed in the very legit Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) in Brisbane.

"Marvel: Creating the Cinematic Universe" will showcase costumes, props, original artwork -- and, we dare say, a heavy AF Mjolnir or two -- from across Marvel's film and comic output, including the upcoming Ragnarok.

The blockbuster exhibit will focus particularly on Thor, Iron Man and Captain America in their journeys from comic book heroes to filmic legends.

"My Government has reinstated funding of up to $10.8 million for blockbusters at the ... Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) and this is the first of many exciting outcomes," said Anastasia Palaszczuk, Queensland premier and arts minister, in a statement on Monday.

"The filming of Thor: Ragnarok in Brisbane's CBD generated a Marvel buzz that is certain to continue with the opportunity for comic book and movie fans to exclusively view pieces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe."

"The crews, the people, and the support that we've received from Queensland and the country of Australia has been amazing," said Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, referencing the filming Thor: Ragnarok on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

Tickets to "Marvel: Creating the Cinematic Universe" go on sale Monday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. AEST, and the exhibit opens in May 2017.

Guess it's time to book that trip to Australia, hey mates? Just watch out for those mice-eating spiders.

P.S. Could Tom Hiddleston be any better at Chris Hemsworth impressions? It's uncanny.
