Michael J. Fox reminds us that 'Back to the Future' was only a year off predicting Cubs victory

"Only off by a year, not bad."

Predicting the future isn't an easy task, so when Hollywood comes remotely close, major props are due.

Michael J. Fox reminded us all that 1989's Back to the Future: Part II was just one lousy year off when it came to predicting a World Series win by the Chicago Cubs.

The actor expressed his congratulations to the reigning baseball team with a tweet Thursday.

In the 1989 film, Fox's character makes the journey to Oct. 21, 2015 and hears that the team won the title, ending a World Series dry spell that lasted over 100 years. Though in the film, Marty McFly sees that Cubs beat Miami—not Cleveland.

"Hopefully these events don't cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space-time continuum," one fan responded to Fox. Our fingers are crossed.

While it's no yearbook quote prediction, it is still admirably close. Congrats again to the Cubs!
