"Hey Bae intern?" Seriously?

Here's a piece of advice: Whether you're an individual or a multibillion dollar company, never start any sort of event invite with the words "Hey Bae."

Especially if you're unsure what "bae" means.

According to Twitter user Patrick Burtchaell, his roommate received an email from a Microsoft University Recruiter, inviting them to Microsoft's Internapalooza afterparty in Seattle on July 11.

The email is chock full of youngspeak which feels oddly out of place. Besides the cringe-inducing "Hey bae intern" opening -- sorry Microsoft, we're not boyfriend and girlfriend just yet -- highlights include the mention of the company's "crew" and the promise of "hella noms" (lots of food in English).

The last sentence takes the cake though. "Hell yes to getting lit on Monday night," the email concludes. Which would mean that the company approves of everyone getting drunk on a work day.

Have you learned nothing from Tay the racist chatbot, Microsoft?

Microsoft acknowledged the email's existence, but wouldn't provide many details beyond that. In an email to The Register, the company said the email was "poorly worded and not in keeping with (Microsoft's) values as a company." Microsoft will be looking into how this could have happened.

Hopefully not while being lit.
