It's been roughly a year since Hereditary began scarring cinema-goers.

And now, just as those traumatic memories are beginning to fade, director Ari Aster has a new movie on its way out -- the appropriately-timed Midsommar.

The film is still a couple of weeks away from general release, but Tuesday night saw a bunch of critics get treated to an early screening.

And a quick browse of the hashtag shows that it's likely to be one hell of a ride...

One of the recurring themes on Twitter seemed to be the humour in the film. A lot of people apparently found it almost as funny as they did disturbing.

Yikes. But also, yay!
