Five days after leaving Twitter after she became the target of a homophobic meme, Millie Bobby Brown has addressed bullying in her MTV Awards speech.

The Stranger Things star picked up the award for Best Performance in a Show on Monday. She couldn't attend in person, so instead shared the video above.

After thanking various people for the award, Brown took a moment at an end to address the issue of bullying.

"I'm not going to tolerate it"

"Finally, since I know that there are many young people watching this -- and even to the adults, too -- they could probably use the reminder that I was taught, if you don't have anything nice to say, just don't say it," said Brown. "There should be no space in this world for bullying, and I'm not going to tolerate it. And neither should any of you."

She finished with a reminder that although she's deactivated her Twitter account, she's still using Instagram.

"If you need a reminder of how worthy you are, and to rise above the hate, message me on Instagram."
