EASTON, PA - JUNE 18: A packaging machine sorts crayons while moving them toward individual boxes at Binney and Smith, Inc., the manufacturer of Crayola crayons, June 18, 2003 in Easton, Pennsylvania. Binney and Smith is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first box of Crayola crayons this year. Introduced in 1903, a box of Crayola crayons sold for a nickel and included eight of the same colors available in today's palette: red, blue, yellow, violet, orange, black and brown. Crayola is officially killing the Dandelion crayon, marking the first time the company has ever retired a color from its 24-count box.
A new color will be added to the iconic crayon set, but Crayola has delayed that announcement until May. The company only said that the new shade will be "in the blue family."
