Pharrell's band N.E.R.D has finally released a new single with Rihanna called 'Lemon'

Pharrell's band has returned with Rihanna

Well that took long enough.

N.E.R.D, the hip-hop/ funk-rock group fronted by Pharrell, has finally made their return with a new single called "Lemon" featuring none other than Rihanna.

The song premiered Wednesday on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show. It's their first official single since their last album Nothing came out in 2010, and the first new music from the group since they made a few songs for 2015's The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.

Pharrell had as recently as last year, confirmed that N.E.R.D was not finished bringing great music to the world and that a new album was on the way "When it's time."

Then, a few days ago, mysterious posters began to pop up bearing N.E.R.D's official acronym, No_one Ever Really Dies.

Their was also a new website launched along with an extensive clothing collaboration with Adidas.

Fans have been theorizing for some time that N.E.R.D would make a return, and this bubbly new track is as good as you would expect from Rihanna and Pharrell.

And one eagle-eyed fan pointed out that Rihanna and Pharrell may have even teased the single back in 2015, when both Pharrell and Rihanna Instagrammed the line "Tell the paparazzi get the lens right" which is featured in the new song.

There's no word yet whether this new song is actually a single for an upcoming album or just some randomly dropped fire. Either way, it's nice to have them back.
