While this story contains myriad mouth-watering pictures of tasty cheeses, it's also bursting at the seams with spoilers for 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' and 'Game of Thrones'.

2017 brought us a veritable platter of pop culture moments to feast upon. There were pop music comebacks, hotly-anticipated engagements, live-streamed animal pregnancies, and side-splittingly funny fails.

To help you make sense of the year that was 2017, we've decided to retell the definitive pop culture moments of the year through the medium of cheese. Why? Because cheese makes everything make sense. Plus it's delicious. And, we were hungry. Just stop asking questions and enjoy this delectable smorgasbord.

Look what you made her do, people! If one cheese best describes Taylor Swift's comeback album, it's Roquefort. Why? Because it's salty. Just like Swift's Reputation era mood.

April the Giraffe's never-ending pregnancy came to a close

Strong, extra-mature Cheddar can take anything from several years to about 15 months to mature. The latter is about the length of April the Giraffe's gestation period. It took a loooooooong time for April's calf to decide to grace us with her presence. But, this extra-mature giraffe finally showed her face after what felt like the longest live-stream in history.

'Call Me By Your Name' made everyone think about apricots

Never has a movie been so riddled with references to apricots and peaches. That's why there's only one cheese that can possibly do justice to the (frankly amazing) Call Me By Your Name movie—Wensleydale with apricots.

The Carter-Knowles household gained two teeny tiny human additions this year—Sir Carter and Rumi. Explained in cheese terms, two of the greatest and most talented cheeses on earth loved each other so much that they made two gorgeous baby cheeses. And now their first baby cheese has two new cheeses to play with!

Kendall Jenner face-planted off a bike

Cheese: Feta

Feta cheese is a crumbly mess. If you so much as breathe near it, crumbs of cheese start falling—much like Kendall Jenner tumbled off her bike (somewhat comically) this year.

Harry and Meghan got engaged

There is only one way to describe the perfect union that is Prince Harry and Meghan Markle—a breathtaking multi-tiered cake made up of perfectly matched cheeses.

Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen hooked up

The sexual tension between these two characters finally came to an almighty, errr, climax, for want of a better word. It was the hot TV moment we had all been waiting for, even if the sex was a little bit awkward.

That weird milking moment in 'The Last Jedi'

Cheese: Burrata

When you leave the cinema after watching The Last Jedi, there are a couple of rather shocking moments that'll stick with ya for a while (maybe forever). One of them is the image of Luke Goddamn Skywalker milking an alien's udder. Even though the milk is green, there's only one cheese that comes to mind: burrata. Idk, something about the creamy consistency of it. Who knows, maybe the alien milk is as delicious as burrata? Let's hope so, for Luke's sake.

What a delicious year it's been!
