If you think you know who the real villains in your favorite movies and television shows are, you might want to think again.

A new hilarious, eye-opening meme is making the rounds on Twitter, and it aims to re-evaluate classic on-screen villains and replace them with far more harmful, problematic characters.

For example, SpongeBob Squarepants fans are repeatedly told that Plankton is the villain of the show. But what about the cheap, greedy, money-hungry Mr. Krabs? Sounds like he might be the real villain of Bikini Bottom.

To take part in the meme, simply tweet two photos alongside the words "the movie/show villain" and "the real villain," like so.

Over the past few days people have examined traditional villains in a variety of shows and movies and made memes about Home Alone, High School Musical, The Cheetah Girls, and Breaking Bad. Sooooo many Breaking Bad memes. Here are a few of our favorites.

Although the format may seem extremely simple, if you try hard enough there's always a way to find even more complex TV show and movie villains. The meme has also caused some heated online debates about which characters are actually in the wrong. Sometimes, the real villain isn't even a character at all!

Happy villain hunting, everybody.
