These retro buses are being used to transport Londoners on strike day
LONDON -- Tube disruptions due to strikes are normally a pretty miserable affair in London -- but not always.
On Thursday, Transport for London were forced to put on a bus replacement service due to strikes affecting the Piccadilly Line. And some passengers got lucky.

"Due to the Piccadilly strike, I had the pleasure of commuting in a museum piece from 1950 this morning," wrote Reddit user ramblerandgambler.
"Everyone had a grin on their face, it was disturbing."
Mashable reached out to Transport for London, who confirmed that they do indeed use some heritage buses during strikes to cover affected routes.
On Thursday, heritage buses were in use between Heathrow and Hammersmith stations.
