The latest Run the Jewels album is out now, three weeks early
Years from now, we'll look back on this year and think, "Ok fine, 2016 wasn't all bad."
First it was Chance the Rapper and Jeremih's Christmas mixtape, and now it's Run the Jewels -- the hip hop duo featuring El-P and Killer Mike -- with a surprise early release for their latest album, Run the Jewels 3. The album was originally expected to drop on Jan. 13.
A bona fide Christmas miracle if there ever was one. Listen right here, or through your own streaming music provider of choice.
The duo's first and second albums -- Run the Jewels and Run the Jewels 2 -- arrived in 2013 and 2014, respectively. A remix album called Meow the Jewels followed in 2015, and singles from RTJ3 -- "Legend Has It," "2100," "Talk To Me," and "Panther Like A Panther" -- have been scattered across 2016.
The physical release of the new album is still set for Jan. 13 (international release on Jan. 20) with a 2017 "Run the World" tour to follow. But with RTJ3 streaming on virtually every service -- including Spotify, Amazon, and Apple Music -- you won't have to wait that long to check out the new music.
If that's not enough Run the Jewels, you can also check out Killer Mike and El-P in this new clip from Portlandia. The duo will appear in the IFC series' season premiere on Jan. 5.
