Ryan Reynolds explains that shocking Spice Girls moment in '6 Underground'

That makes a lot more sense.

Ever since he collaborated with Celine Dion for the music in Deadpool, it's been clear that Ryan Reynolds is a big fan of legendary pop singers.

Which makes one particular scene in his new Netflix movie, 6 Underground, all the more shocking.

In a nutshell, there's a moment during a car chase where Dave Franco's character, 6, turns the radio on – and the Spice Girls' song "Wannabe" starts blasting out. Rather than embracing this moment, though, as we all know he should have, Reynolds' character rips the entire radio out and throws it from the car window.

The fans simply couldn't understand it.

Finally, on Monday morning, Reynolds took to Twitter to clear the whole thing up. Apparently the song was added in post production.

"I would NEVER interrupt the Spice Girls," wrote Reynolds. "Never."

This isn't the first time he's addressed that specific moment, either. Last week, during the movie's press tour, Reynolds was asked about the scene during an interview for Yaaas TV.

"I specifically asked for something else," responded Reynolds, referring to the choice of song. "Something other like an old 98 Degrees song or something like that, that I would rip out... the fact that Michael effing Bay put in Spice Girls – which by the way, where I'm from, in my house, that's a religion, man. When my wife finds out that I rip out a radio because the Spice Girls is playing, I'm a dead man. They're amazing, the Spice Girls."

We knew it. Balance has been restored at last.
