You've seen plenty of photos of Samsung's new Galaxy S7 smartphone from the outside. Now it's time to see how it looks from the inside, courtesy of iFixit's latest teardown.

The S7's guts, when compared to those of the S6, are especially interesting for several reasons: The phone is waterproof, it has a larger battery, and it has a liquid-filled tube keeping it cool, according to Samsung

The waterproof properties of the phone seem to have been achieved with a lot of rubber seals and a new type of glue which holds both the back and the front glass of the phone together, and is apparently pretty hard to remove without special tools.

Samsung didn't lie on the battery front, either: Even if it's not particularly big in size, it has a 3,000mAh capacity, a big improvement over S6's 2,550mAh battery.

As far as the liquid cooling bit goes, it really doesn't look like much. It's an extremely thin (less than half a millimeter, iFixit claims) copper heat pipe, which transfers heat from some of the phone's chips to its metal frame.

On the overall repairability front, the S7 unsurprisingly scores low: 3 out of 10. Even though many of the individual components can be replaced, including the battery, it's very hard to remove the glass covers of the phone, which is necessary to gain any sort of entry into the device.
