Two of India's most popular television shows are being revived online.

A decade after it ended, the beloved Indian TV show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai is being rebooted as a web series. It the second Indian show to return online, after the 1990s school drama Hip Hip Hurray was resurrected as a web series, 15 years after it went off air.

Sarabhai vs Sarabhai revolved around an idiosyncratic Mumbai family, with many of the gags focusing on the playful sparring between the parents and their elder son and wife living opposite them.

The show's producer JD Majethia recently tweeted a photograph of the entire cast and said that he had "good news". "We have received so much support from fans online, some of whom have even volunteered to finance the show," he finally told Mumbai Mirror. He added that the cast members did not want the show to become a "never-ending TV series", but were excited about it returning as a "shorter term online" series.

However unlike Hip Hip Hurray, which is being rebooted with a new cast, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai is likely to continue with its original actors. The old cast also gathered to sing the show's theme song.
