Talk about cutting some Swiss cheese.

Swede Adam Lindin Ljungkvist, a left-back for Pershagens SK, was shown the door in the closing moments against Järna SK’s reserve team for straight up farting really loud.

The fart, deemed by referee Dany Kako to be "a deliberate provocation" as well as "unsportmanlike behavior," earned Ljungkvist his second yellow card, and therefore his ejection.

Ljungkvist explained himself to Swedish publication Länstidningen SödertäljeThe Guardian translated his comments,

"I had a bad stomach, so I simply let go. Then I received two yellow cards and then red. Yes, I was shocked, it’s the strangest thing I have ever experienced in football...I asked the referee, ‘What, am I not allowed to break wind a little?’ ‘No,’ he replied … I don’t get it but maybe he thought I farted in my hand and threw the fart at him. But I did not.”

Ljungkvist's stomach must've been real bad, because even opposing striker Kristoffer Linde heard the eruption. “I was standing a good distance away but I heard the fart loud and clear."

He mirrored Ljungkvist's perspective, "It’s the strangest thing I’ve seen on a pitch, and I’ve been playing football since I was eight years old.”

At this time It remains unclear as to whether the boisterous fart gave Ljungkvist's team an advantage against the opposition.
