Fortnite is going to make the long wait for the next Star Wars just a little bit easier.

Fans have noticed that posters appearing inside the game's Battle Royale map are now hyping a Dec. 14 event that will treat players to an "exclusive scene premiere" from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It will even feature an appearance (presumably an introduction) from director J.J. Abrams.

According to the posters, the event is set to kick off on Dec. 14 at 1:30 p.m. ET, with the "show" starting at 2:00 p.m. ET. It'll be happening at Risky Reels, a decrepit drive-in movie theater situated just to the west of Frenzy Farm. You can spot the poster in various locations around the map.

Fortnite developer Epic Games later confirmed the news directly on Twitter (not that there was any doubt).

If you're new to Fortnite but have a sudden urge to jump in because of Star Wars then you'll be happy to know the event is sure to be captured and shared widely on social media. But if you want to see it yourself, it's probably not a bad idea to get acquainted with the map ahead of time.

You can safely pay a visit to Risky Reels by loading up Fortnite's Creative Mode, which lets you mess around freely on the Battle Royale map. When you load into the mode's hub location, find the portal for Frenzy Farm and walk right in. You should spawn in the sky high above that location, and Risky Reels is clearly visible just a short distance to the west.

You'll probably have to load into a proper Battle Royale match if you want to see the scene yourself, but fear not. If the Star Wars event is anything like other big-ticket in-game Fortnite events, combat will probably be turned off at the 1:30 p.m. ET start time.

This is only the latest development in an ongoing Fortnite x Star Wars partnership. Back in November, an Imperial Star Destroyer appeared in the sky above the map and a Stormtrooper skin was added to the game.

You get that skin for free if you own the recently released Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order through the Epic Games Store. Otherwise, you can buy it in-game from the Fortnite store.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on Dec. 20.

UPDATE: Dec. 7, 2019, 3:36 p.m. EST Added Epic Games' tweet confirming the news.
