An stuntman has died after being shot in the chest during a film shoot in Brisbane, Australia, Monday afternoon.

Johann Ofner, 28, died after being accidentially shot on the set of a music video for Australian hip hop act Bliss N Eso.

The tragedy sparked tributes from friends, family and colleagues -- including an Instagram post from his partner, Kati Garnett.

"Today the love of my life was taken from me and I still can't believe it," Garnett wrote. "I don't know what I'm going to do with out you, the best people are always taken from us you were a true Angel. I love you so so much forever and ever."

Actress Margot Robbie's stuntman brother, Lachlan Robbie, also posted a tribute to the well-loved stuntman on Instagram.

"Your influence and passion, kindness and strength, motivation and encouragement, drive and determination will be greatly missed as will your infectious smile and laugh," he wrote.

"You chased your dreams and made them a reality you might be gone from us now but we will forever hold you in our minds and hearts so you will never be forgotten."

Bliss N Eso themselves posted a statement on Facebook Monday, stating that they were not on set at the time of the incident. They offered their condolences to his friends and family, and said their management team were looking into the incident.

"The three of us are extremely upset and shaken up by this and our hearts and prayers go out to the victim's family and friends as well as the cast and crew who were involved in the clip today," the post reads.

Queensland Police detectives are still investigating the incident, with Detective Inspector Tom Armitt saying "During the filming of that scene, several firearms were used," according to ABC News.

"As a result of the use of those firearms one of the actors has received wounds to the chest and has subsequently died from his injuries. At this point in time, Queensland police are conducting a criminal investigation.

"We do not know specifically how those injuries occurred at this point in time and that'll be (the) subject of our investigation."
