T-Mobile, the thirstiest of all wireless carriers, is now trying to attract customers to its network with invitations to Netflix and chill.

The company is offering free Netflix subscriptions through its T-Mobile ONE unlimited data plan with the new "Netflix on Us" campaign. The promotion was announced today in a video featuring CEO John Legere spray painting graffiti below a Netflix logo — because why the hell not?

New and current T-Mobile subscribers on unlimited plans with two or more lines will be given free Netflix access starting Sept. 12.

The company will also pay the annual $120 cost for people who already have a Netflix account, so it could actually a pretty good deal for some families.

Before you get too excited, be forewarned: The promotion only covers standard Netflix subscriptions, so anyone with the service's premium plan will have to pay the difference to T-Mobile.

The partnership will be marked by a "binge-watching giveaway marathon" on Sept. 7, so get ready for some more bad Verizon jokes.

The "Netflix Meme-a-thon" encourages fans to interact with T-Mobile on Twitter by posting memes and other content associated with Netflix programming for a chance to win prizes, including 11 all-expense paid trips to the premier of the second season of Stranger Things.

T-Mobile isn't the first carrier to use streaming video to entice subscribers. AT&T similarly launched a promotion to offer free HBO Go accounts to customers back in April, as the carrier was in the midst of acquiring the network's parent company, Time Warner.

The HBO deal has an interesting wrinkle that's not present in the T-Mobile/Netflix offer, however: HBO streams don't count against an AT&T customer's data cap. That type of setup, called "zero rating," is an issue tied closely to net neutrality, since a particular source of data is favored over others. Such arrangements were investigated when net neutrality was a major point of interest for regulators, but the current administration's FCC has dropped efforts to curtail the practice.

T-Mobile's promotion won't offer the controversial perk, at least for now. The carrier more focused on getting subscribers streaming as much content as possible — so it'll pay to make that happen.
