Tiktok is reportedly testing a new Watch History feature, making it easier to find that one video you swore you saw the other day.

The new feature was first spotted this week by Twitter user Hammod Oh, and subsequently shared by Geekout founder Matt Navarra. According to a screenshot shared by Oh, TikTok's Watch History should be accessible via the app's settings and privacy menu — provided it's been rolled out to your phone.

Mashable was unable to access TikTok's Watch History feature in Australia, and it's unclear exactly which markets it's currently being tested in. Mashable has reached out to TikTok for comment.

When contacted by TechCrunch, TikTok provided its standard statement that it is "always thinking about new ways to bring value to our community and enrich the TikTok experience," but declined to comment further.

Until now, TikTok users hunting for previously viewed clips had to use the app's search function, toggling a filter that would only surface videos seen within the last seven days. However, this makeshift solution doesn't show TikToks chronologically, and also requires you to input a relevant search term.

Though we don't yet know TikTok's Watch History will work, nor how far back it will reach, it's reasonable to presume the process will be more straightforward than this.

In the meantime, you can help save yourself some irritation by using TikTok's bookmarking feature to proactively save videos you might want to view later. The app also lets you organise your bookmarked clips into collections, making it even easier to sort through them later. As much as we all love K-pop fancams, you don't want to scroll through hundreds of them when you're looking for an eyeliner hack.
