10 knock-off Halloween costumes that are so scary bad they're actually kinda good

Anyone going as Juice Demon this year?

Look, we get it. Licensing and copyright issues are complicated and expensive.

When coming up with "versions" of well known pop culture costumes knock-off companies have a quick solution: Whip out a thesaurus and paraphrase.

That's what author and EW correspondent Dana Schwartz spotted when she shared a particularly obvious "interpretation".

A yellow plaid outfit remarkably similar to that worn by Alicia Silverstone as Cher in the '90s classic Clueless is being sold by the costume maker Costume Culture by Franco as "Notionless".

It prompted people on Twitter to share other glaringly obvious examples.

Why even think of another name when you can just go for a homonym (kind of)?

Honestly, Neo from The Matrix would probably be completely fine with the name "Cyber Man". Not so sure about "Padre," though.

"Video Game Guy" could be any of us at this point, but in this case we believe it's Mario.

This level of laziness is almost aspirational.

A lad in what, exactly? We need more information.

Catniss would be proud.

Whether or not you find the sexualisation of female costumes problematic, this is just bad.

Having serious doubts about whether this is even meant to be a Gomez Addams costume?

Is it bad to actually like the name "Juice Demon" better than Beetlejuice?

Coming up with these names must be a dream job.
