Two cops from Toronto got themselves in a batch of trouble on Sunday when they allegedly ate some marijuana edibles while on duty, got really stoned, and were forced to call for help.

The CBC reports that the two officers, who are part of 13 Division, have been suspended pending an investigation. Over the weekend, the Toronto police raided a pot dispensary, which is apparently where the cops copped the edibles.

FYI, folks: Ingesting marijuana is not the same as smoking or vaporizing marijuana. Eating pot will get you WAY more stoned. Professionals suggest waiting a solid two hours after ingesting edibles before taking more, because the onset of effects can be quite slow.

Apparently the cops didn't wait before eating more.

NewsTalk 1010 reports that when the two officers didn't feel the effects of the edibles right away, they ate some more. Eventually, the duo became so stoned that they were hallucinating, and one of them decided to call for backup. But when help arrived, pot paranoia kicked in, and "one of the impaired officers took off running."

To make matters worse, another officer responding to the calls for help slipped on ice and suffered a head injury. Ouch.

The Toronto Police would not confirm specifics of the incident to the CBC, but a spokesperson did confirm that two officers were suspended and under investigation following an incident that occurred on Sunday. The CBC also reports that both impaired officers were treated at the hospital for their highness.

If you need some expert advice on how to properly and safely consume cannabis edibles, I wrote this very handy guide a few years back, and it remains true to this day.

Take it slow, and definitely don't eat weed if you're at work, regardless of your profession.
