Wrigley Field is about to host its first World Series since 1945.

The Chicago Cubs evened the series at one game apiece with a 5-1 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday night. After two games in Cleveland, the series heads 350 miles west for Game 3 on Friday.

And to see the Cubs' first World Series home game in 71 years, it's going to cost you.

As of 12 p.m. PT on Thursday, the cheapest ticket option on StubHub— standing room only — will run you $2,250 a pop for Game 3. Let's say you really want to be sitting. Tack on another $200 for outfield bleacher tickets.

The history of this World Series has been touted relentlessly, but here's a recap.

The Cubs haven't won a World Series since 1908, and haven't been to one since 1945. That's the longest championship drought in North American professional sports. The Indians haven't won a World Series since 1948, the second-longest drought in baseball.

Oh, what's that? You're a die-hard Cubs fan? You've been waiting your whole life for this moment and won't settle for anything less than a close-up view of your team?

Seats behind the Cubs dugout are listed anywhere between $4,995 and $10,000.

The median ticket price, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell, is $3,000.

Or, you could take those 3,000 smackers and buy something else. Like 300 copies of The Natural on DVD. Or a round trip from Chicago to Rome, sitting in premium economy class. Or Apple's new 15-inch MacBook Pro.

Hopefully you've been stashing $42.45 in a Cubs hat every year since 1945, because that's what it would take to buy median-priced tickets for Game 3.
